WYSAWYG = What You See Ain’t What You Get.

Apple ][ plus

I’m a development manager at a news company located in Manhattan.  I like both new and old technology.  I used to like LISP and C++; they were quite difficult to learn but appreciated them later after got used to them, and I just love Java — it’s great.  I’m getting to know Erlang nowadays.

My first computer was Apple ][plus.  I played many games on it and learned programming BASIC and Asssembly with it.  I still play with it (got one from ebay), and read on its H/W architecture and design book (Understanding Apple II) occasionally whenever I feel nostalgic.

Here is my favorite Apple II game, Star Blazer.  It has great graphical effects, animation, and a lot of fun to play.  Apple II games can be played using browser — Virtual Apple 2:

And my other interests are AI and robotics, although I don’t have much time for them lately.  ANN and PIC are interesting to play with, and data mining (IR, Search) topic is fun too.

The most important and valuable way to spend time is…with family, friends, and people.  At the end, the technology exists for people, and made by people.  It’s great to work with brilliant people to achieve something together.  And after a  long hard working day, being with family gives a lot of joy in life.
