Alpha Go (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AlphaGo) first announced in January 2016. There was a news though in November 2015 hinting of AI winning human. It's been 5 long years since then.
I wrote about it Dec 2015 (https://blog.keithkim.com/2015/12/computer-go-game.html) -- couldn't wait to hear about the real match. The rest is history. Now human cannot beat AI in Go game.
The blog entry I wrote was for Windows. Now I moved to Ubuntu - the GUI client to use is quarry go UI (apt-get install quarry)
